LeTourneau University’s Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT) is a specialized professional graduate degree program designed to equip graduates to diagnose and treat individuals, couples, families and groups to achieve healthy relationships. Our students become relationship specialists. You will be equipped to work with all age groups including children, adolescents and adults, and may choose to specialize with a specific population.
Integration of Christian Faith and Clinical Counseling
LeTourneau is a Christian non-denominational institution of higher education. The distinguished LeTourneau faculty is committed to the highest quality of clinical counseling training and also a distinctively Christian counseling and Christian psychology perspective of the counselor role toward assisting the whole person. Students are trained to embrace and apply the empirically grounded principles of psychology and counseling to assist in spiritual and psychological health and in relationship reconciliation.
As a graduate of this program, you will have the academic, practicum and internship requirements for licensure in marriage and family therapy (LMFT) and licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) through the Texas State Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists and the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Requirements in each state vary -- see www.AMFTRB.org for information about your state's licensure requirements and process.
